August Favorites

Wow, August is gone already. It went by so quick, it's crazy really. I sadly start school again this Monday, but before that, I want to share with you guys my August Favorites. August has been a crazy month for me, my brother just went off to college last week, so that was pretty sad but overall it's been a good August. This month, I have been loving a lot of music, movies, and TV. Check down below for my favorites! Enjoy!

Movies

This whole month, I've watched a lot of movies, most of them were musicals but some were just regular movies. My absolute favorite movie of this month, has got to be RENT. I saw RENT back in I think 2007 or 2008 and I'd completely forgotten what it was really about and then when I re-watched, I was like 'oh my god'. This movie is so great, it's funny at times, and it's just really good, okay. Other favorite movies of mine were The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Bye Bye Birdie, The Way We Were, and Whip It.  

Music

This past month, I have been loving a lot of music. A lot of the music is from musicals and broadway's, but I still love it more than anything. My absolute favorite CD (yes, I still listen to those) has got to be the RENT CD, it's so good and every song up there is so good and everybody just sings really well and I just love it. 

My favorite tracks are 'Rent', 'The Tango Maureen', 'Today 4 U', 'Halloween', and 'La Vie Boheme'. 

Another favorite CD of mine was the Wicked soundtrack, I really loved that. I've also been really into Idina Menzel, if you couldn't see the pattern of RENT and Wicked. I really loved her CD 'I Stand' and I loved her 'Barefoot at the Symphony', she was so hilarious and cracked me up.

Other favorite songs of mine were Yard Sale by Neon Hitch (again) and All About That Bass by Meghan Trainor. 

TV

I haven't been loving that much TV this month, but one show I really liked and thought was really funny, was the Conan O'Brien show. He's so funny and I honestly love to see him play the video games, it's so freaking hilarious, I love him.

People

I know this is a really weird category, but I just thought why not. This month, I have been loving Idina Menzel. Since watching RENT, I've been like crazy obsessed with her. She's so freaking talented and so beautiful. I just really, really love her. 

Emmy's Red Carpet: Best and Worst Dressed

Last night was the annual Emmy's and I have to admit it was really good and really funny. Seth Meyers was a really good and hilarious host, I'm glad they chose him. The fashion was as good as they show. But of course there were some misses. Down below I will show you guys my best and worst dressed from last night. Enjoy!

Last night the women and men brought it! My definite favorites of the night have got to go to the Modern Family women, Julia Bowen and Sarah Hyland. Other favorites of mine were Taylor Schilling, Heidi Klum, Hayden Panettiere, Minnie Driver, and Lizzy Kaplan.

These looks up above just weren't good at all, I'm sorry. Worst dressed of the night has to go to Lena Dunham, it's just really bad and weird, she looks like a giant flamingo. My other worst of night is Kate Mara. It's honestly so weird, the dress is terrible and her hair looks really bad.

Celebrity Style of the Week

I am a huge fan of Lily Collins and I love her movies. I was first introduced to Lily when she starred in Mirror Mirror and I fell in love with her instantly, I thought she was beautiful and super talented. I then started to look at what she wore on a casual day and what she wore to premieres, and I was like 'oh my gosh, this girl has amazing style'. So that is why she is this week's CSW. Down below I have inserted her fashion essentials. Enjoy!

Lily loves blazers. She loves her blazers printed and usually oversized (like a boyfriend blazer).

Continuing with her outerwear, she loves all sorts of coats. Coats such as leather, trench, and military.

When I usually see Lily, she's typically wearing graphic sweaters. These sweaters can have anything and everything on them.

Kimonos are not exactly a must for Lily's wardrobe, but trust me does love to wear them, just not as often.

Lily's typical shoe choice are boots. She loves them at the ankle, heeled, wedged you name it she has worn it.

Pumps are usually worn for a special event when it comes to Lily. She loves all sorts of pumps, all colors and prints.

Lily is also always seen carrying a handbag, clutch, or satchel. They always complete her outfit by sometimes adding a pop of color.

Bold dresses are a must for Lily. She never really wears them outside of a red carpet event, but trust me she does wear them.

Bonus!

Lily is not only known for her amazing and bold style, she's also well known for her beautiful makeup. Her signature look is her bold brows, bold lips (most of the time), and flawless skin. Down below, I have inserted a couple makeup tutorials for anyone who wants to try this look out. Enjoy!
